Mint Hill Residents,

I am excited to provide you with an update on the development of the Ezell Farms Park.  Phase one of construction commenced on May 6.  This phase is anticipated to be complete by Summer 2025.  Phase one will include the installation of basketball and pickleball courts, a splash pad, a restroom facility, an open play field, a nature-themed playground, improvements to the community garden, trails, parking, and public art. 

Despite ongoing construction, the community garden will remain accessible with visitation restricted to weekends until Phase one is completed.  Residents can visit Mecklenburg County’s Public Input Site where they can access site plans and receive construction updates.

This week’s featured employee is Anthony Martens.  Anthony has been with the Town for nearly four years, coming to Mint Hill after a career in Public Works in Florida as well as time working for private companies in North Carolina. Serving Mint Hill Public Works now as a Crew Leader and Equipment Operator, Anthony leads crews in a wide range of types of work including stormwater repairs, road work, and special assignments. Over the course of about 18 months, Antony attended classes related to the Public Works career field through the North Carolina Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) hosted by the Institute for Transportation Research and Education (ITRE) at NC State University. After completing approximately 60 hours of classroom and field instruction, Anthony has earned the title of Road Scholar. These courses include important topics such as leadership, safety, construction fundamentals, and technical aspects related to materials and methods. Thank you, Anthony, for your commitment and dedication to the Town of Mint Hill.
